Willis & Willis Core Values: This value-driven employee compensation plan ties an employee's pay, in part, to performance on firm values. The firm values intend that all clients receive the highest possible level of service.

We Care About Our Clients

We follow Christian principles in our law practice at the Aggressive Criminal Defense Law Firm. Besides providing professional legal counsel and representation, we care about our clients as people.

We also encourage our clients to provide us with background information including awards, achievements, volunteer work, family status, or anything else that puts clients in the most positive light. In short, the prosecutor will have a list of a few things you have done wrong and that list will be countered with a list ten times longer of things you are doing right.

We make counselors available to help you work through any addiction issues you may have. This can help you as a person, and it can also promote your case in court. If a judge sees that you are dealing with your problem, it can be a positive development in the case.

TESTIMONIALS AND RESULTS

Ryan S. - OWI 1st

Client was stopped by Police based on an anonymous tip, without reasonable suspicion. We filed and argued a motion to suppress the evidence and the charge was dismissed.

I can't thank you enough for your wisdom, guidance and reassurance during a devastating time for our family. I have often reflected on my luck for being considered your extended family - friend. Your help during this difficult time was perfect. I am forever grateful. Connie W 8.27.09

Amanda B. - Unlawful use of a Motor Vehicle (A WMU college student)

Client took a car without permission and was reported to the Police. At client's Arraignment we negotiated with the Prosecutor and obtained an immediate dismissal of the charge.

I appreciate all the help and support you gave me during this hard time. You were so nice to me and I felt better because of your help. My future will be better because of your help. Thank you. Eric W 8.27.09

Bill G. - OWI 2nd

Client was in accident, and then drank when he returned home. Police did not believe him and charged a OWI 2nd Offense. We pressed the prosecutor to trial, and before trial, prosecutor agreed to reduce it to a Careless Driving (civil infraction) and dismiss the OWI 2nd Offense

I want to offer my gratitude to you and your staff for your representation of my son. [Your clerk] was kind, considerate and responsive to our concerns and questions. We are, obviously, pleased with the outcome, crediting you with making the difference between dismissal and a conviction. Carol K 4.18.08

Jamie E. - DWI

We used the client's good character to convince the Prosecutor to reduce the charge to Impaired, no jail, no probation, no community service and only $250.00 in fines and costs.

Shaun is one of the most ethical and responsible individuals I know, and with his integrity, he brings the grit of a well-trained lawyer and litigator who can be counted upon to deliver superlative results in a compassionate way. I have had the pleasure of knowing Shaun (and, his brother, Michael) for a few years, and together they compose an unprecedented high plateau of yin and yang in the legal field. Shaun is able to make you laugh -- how many can say that their lawyer can make them do that!? He becomes a part of your extended family, which is probably his greatest curse...he cares. It doesn't matter whether you are a pro-bono client, or paying him full fare, he cares about who YOU are, as opposed to dwelling superfluously on the problem. In all likelihood, this is what sets him apart as a fantastic litigator. I guess it's all about whether someone cares. Shaun pours his heart and soul into his work, and that makes all the difference. Josh G 3.6.08

Steve G. - OWI

Through negotiations, we had the charge reduced to DWI with no probation and no jail. Client completed a highway safety program and a Victim Impact Panel and the charged was reduced again to Careless Driving, a civil infraction rather than a criminal charge, and the OWI charge and the DWI were dismissed.

..."Thanks a million for your excellent legal representation. [My nephew] just had a baby daughter and really seems to be becoming a better person. Thanks for helping him down the road. You can count on us for a good recommendation anytime." Ralph K 3/05/07

Michael G. - OWI & Refusal of PBT (A Colorado college student)

We immediately got the Refusal of PBT charge dropped and then the OWI reduced to Visibly Impaired. We got client a restricted license that allowed him to drive to keep his job. Then, after a 12 month delayed sentence, the Visibly Impaired was dismissed and client pled to Careless Driving. No jail time, no probation and no community service, no criminal record.

"Thank you so much for everything you have done throughout the past year and a half. Thank you for helping me settle things before my move to China. It was such a relief to know everything was taken care. I appreciate it more than I could ever say! Thank you, thank you, thank you." Michelle B [no date]

Clive M. - Misdemeanor Expungement

Client had a conviction on his criminal history for a misdemeanor negligent homicide due to a car accident that caused a death. We were successful in petitioning the Court to expunge the client's record, as a result, our client has no criminal record.

Paul W - Felony Possession of Marijuana and Intent to Sell and 4 other felonies under investigation

We got the charges reduced to one count of Misdemeanor Possession and the Prosecutor agreed to have client participate in a Diversion Program; at the end of 6 months the charge was dismissed. We helped the client get his Medical Marijuana card; and negotiated the return of property and cars that were confiscated by the police.

Thanking you again for your knowledge and professionalism before, during and after my legal concerns. Jacqueline B 1.4.10

Karen R. - MIP & Marijuana Possession: (a Grand Valley College Student)

We were able to show doubt that the alcohol belonged to the client (a college student) and as a consequence the Prosecutor dropped the MIP charge. The Prosecutor and Judge agreed to allow the client to participate in the 7411 Division program (one of the first ever allowed in the Ottawa County Courts). After 12 months probation, the final charge was dismissed, and as a result the client has no criminal record.

I am the mother of the son you helped. With your help, he was able to remain in his home. I am still so grateful to you. You are an angel among us. Corinne C 12.31.09

Kristen A. - 20 year Felony for Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine

Laura L. - DUI 3rd

Felony: Client was pulled over ½ mile from her home with the police claiming she was swerving within her lane. Motions were filed in circuit court challenging the stop. Additionally, a blood alcohol expert was brought in to challenge the results of a .09 Chemical Datamaster. Negotiations were held with the prosecutor who opted to drop the case rather than take it to trial. Case dismissed, no criminal record.

"Congrats to Shaun Willis in Kalamazoo, Michigan. His client was facing a felony warrant that had been issued four years ago and probation violations in Michigan. At the time she decided to turn herself in, in late 2005, she was living in Florida and that is when she was referred to our office. After discussing her personal situation with her Probation Officer and sharing the steps she had taken to turn her life around with the Judge that would be hearing her case, he arranged for her turn in. She was facing at least six months in jail, community service, and payment of fines. Mr. Willis was successful in his negotiations and the penalties were reduced to requiring payment of fines only! The probation violations were dismissed. The client was very pleased with the results." From Imhoff & Associates Newsletter
